Arts and Culinary

If you've had enough of the hiking, biking, swimming, splashing, fishing, exploring, or (the list goes on) paddling around the resort, there's still a myriad of relaxing but fascinating activities available. Make a keepsake to commemorate your vacation, learn to grow your own shiitake mushroom farm, or pick up some new recipes at some of our artistic, botanical, or culinary endeavors.

Arts & Crafts

Arts and crafts aren't just for kids. Express your creativity with endless opportunities in the arts & crafts room or pottery studio. Here are just a few of the options that may await you:

  • Paper Mache
  • Jewelry making
  • Collage work
  • Batiking & Tie Dying
  • Kiln Pottery & Clay activities
  • Sculpture & Woodworking
  • Drawing & Block Printing

In the Gardens

Join Claudia, our groundskeeping guru (who is truly part herbalist, part gardener, and part craftsperson) for a gardening session where you could learn anything from how to start your own mushroom farm to how to press calendula flowers into a healing oil. Give her a hand harvesting the fruits of our organic garden, and in late August and early September, help her press local apples into a refreshing, sweet cider. (Don't forget to try out her line of garden - crafted skincare products, Tylers of Vermont, right in our gift shop.)

For an even deeper dive into the local agricultural scene, join the guided organic farm tour or take the kids to a local dairy and maple farm

Culinary Arts

Yes, we know you're here so you don't have to cook or clean for a week. But with chefs as talented as ours, it's only fair for us to pass on some of their expertise. Enjoy a cooking or baking demonstration or even a hands-on class at our outdoor wood-fired oven, and take home some new recipes to show off to your friends (fancy outdoor oven not required). Look for opportunities to churn your own butter or hand-made ice cream at weekly family events, too.
