Choose creative activities or quiet relaxation

Options for artistic, creative activities and entertainment are among the most unexpected charms of a Tyler Place family vacation. The Tyler Place is at the hub of VermontrealTM between Montreal, Quebec and Burlington, Vermont, both of which host numerous jazz, classical, theatre, film, and other events. Just three miles away, Quebec imparts an international flavor, and our local Vermont community is home to artists, musicians, craftspeople, dancers, healers and yoga teachers--many of whom hold classes and tours, entertain and play music for our guests. We're pretty sure we're one of the very few places in the world where you can get five classical music stations--four if you practice your French!

As an extended family, our children are spread out from California - Colorado to New York - and The Tyler Place provided 'a home away from home' where the adults can pursue their individual interests, learn new pursuits, come together for 'adult time meals' and share their joys. The children come together after their morning activities and lunch with their peers or with their family to share quiet time back at their cabin - fishing, arts & crafts, swimming and a host of other activities. As grandparents our joy is seeing the excitement on their faces and memories they are making. ” — L & M, Rochester, NY, Week of June 25, 2011, Cedar
The Tyler Place has athletics, art and relaxation - something for everyone. Our first attempt at pottery was superb - Sara & Michel provide interesting background and humor-filled instruction and then finish off the experience at their classic pottery studio. ” — M & S, Wolfeboro, NH, Week of August 13, 2011, Laura
We just had a great time. We adults had time to do things we never do at home - mountain biking, painting, hiking, yoga and more - all with the best equipment and instructors. ” — D & S, Londonderry, NH, Week of July 15, 2006, Elmwood East
Considering the rain we had, it was a remarkably fun week. You can tweak this place with minor improvements, but all in all it's hard to improve The Tyler Place! This was our 9th summer and we still found fun new things to discover and try. It's also the place I feel safest trying out new things, whether it be rock climbing on the wall or yoga or arts and crafts. Thanks for carrying on the tradition! ” — S & J, Wayland, MA, Week of July 7, 2007, Teal
It was another fabulous year at The Tyler Place. No shortage of things to do for everyone. The food is better than most expensive restaurants. Housekeeping was impeccable. The staff greets you with friendly faces and genuinely seems happy to be there with you. Loved the international staff. Love that we are never made to feel bad about needing something, or having a sad kid, etc. Nature Dave is one of our favorite parts of camp! Love that nature is so integrated into both kids and adult activities. Songs are key!! Thank you! ” — J & A, Lionsville, PA, Week of July 4, 2009, Butterball
