Fishing is a Great Family Vacation Activity on Vermont's Lake Champlain

Family fishing means even two-year-olds catch fish on Tyler Place Family Resort vacations in Vermont. When "Nature Dave" heads out on Lake Champlain with families and kids' groups on one of our three Pontoon Boats, everyone comes home with a fish! We're not sure how he does it, but we do know that kids, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents have loved fishing off the Old Stone Dock or from rowboats for longer than we can remember.

Excellent fishing for Bass and Northern Pike attracts the most serious fishing enthusiasts.

Serious fishing enthusiasts are happy to find some of the best fishing for Small and Large Mouth Bass and Northern Pike in the country right here in Lake Champlain. There is no charge for boats, but there is a nominal charge for motors. (The oars are on us; the gas is on you.) You can purchase Vermont fishing licenses (kids under 14 don't need one) at Martin's Store right near the Tyler Place. Whether you're a budding or expert enthusiast, be sure to talk to local fishing guide Gil Gagne about his guided trips and fees. You'll come home with fish and stories, too!

"During our stay at The Tyler Place this year, we were touched by the kindness shown toward our son by one of your staff members. Our son, age 12, has an interest in fishing and wants to do it on his own, but it isn't an activity in which we have any knowledge or experience. Going fishing is one of the things he enjoys about coming to The Tyler Place. This year he expressed to your staff an interest in learning to clean a fish, while he was fishing with his group. Your staff member then told our son to meet him at the boat dock later in the afternoon, where he did help him to learn this skill. Our son now plans to get his own fishing equipment so he can pursue this activity.
