Traveling by Car to The Tyler Place Family Resort

Nearby Interstate exits from I-89 and I-87 make The Tyler Place Family Resort an easily accessible family travel destination by car.

From Interstate I-89, take the Highgate Springs Exit 22 to U.S. Route 7 and drive south 3 miles until you see The Tyler Place Family Resort signs.

From the New York Northway I-87, take the Champlain, NY Exit 42 and drive east via Rouses Point Bridge on Route 2. At the Route 78 intersection just outside of Alburgh, Vermont, take Route 78 to Swanton, Vermont and then Route 7 north to Highgate Springs. (We're approximately 30 miles from the Champlain, NY Exit 42.)

Rental Cars and Taxi Service

Rental cars are available at all airports. Although the Tyler Place is very bike friendly, a car makes it possible for you to visit nearby Vermont and Quebec farms, swimming holes, attractions, etc. We can make arrangements for taxi service to meet your plane, but we do pass the charge along to you.

Private Plane Aircraft services:

Swanton, Vermont offers a landing for private aircraft - just 10 minutes away. The airport is open 24 hours a day with a 3,000' asphalt landing strip, hangar space, tie downs and fuel available. Contact information is: 802-868-2822.

Experience Family Travel by Train

Amazingly, your family can still travel by train to your family vacation destination at The Tyler Place, just as our father commuted between New York and Vermont in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. Trains run on both the sides of the lake in Vermont and New York with connections to the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, as well as Western Canada. Once you leave the cities and suburbs behind, both routes are among the most scenic in the East. The Vermonter threads its way through the hills and mountains and stops in St. Albans, Vermont--just 12 miles from The Tyler Place Family Resort. The Adirondack clings to the edges of the Hudson River and the entire 120 miles of Lake Champlain shoreline with incredible views of Vermont and the Green Mountains. The Rouses Point station is about 30 minutes from the Tyler Place, and we can arrange a taxi for you.

Amtrak Rail Service: The Vermonter runs daily between Washington D.C. and St. Albans, VT (20 minutes to the Tyler Place) through New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. For taxi service contact gige@tylerplace.com
