Family Fishing

FAMILY FISHING FOR TODDLERS TO TEENAGERS TO PARENTS.

Family fishing means even two-year-olds can catch a fish on Tyler Place Family Resort vacations in Vermont. When “Nature Dave” heads out on Lake Champlain with families on one of our three Pontoon Boats, everyone comes home with a fish! We’re not sure how he does it, but we do know that kids, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents have loved fishing off the Old Stone Dock or from rowboats for longer than we can remember.

SERIOUS FISHING ENTHUSIASTS TAKE NOTE: LAKE CHAMPLAIN OFFERS WORLD-CLASS BASS AND NORTHERN PIKE FISHING.

Serious fishing enthusiasts are happy to find some of the best fishing for Small and Large Mouth Bass and Northern Pike in the country right here in Lake Champlain. There is no charge for boats, but there is a nominal charge for motors. (The oars are on us; the gas is on you.) You can purchase Vermont fishing licenses (kids under 14 don’t need one) at Martin’s Store right near the Tyler Place.

Whether you’re a budding or expert enthusiast, be sure to talk to local fishing guide Gil Gagne about his guided trips and fees. You’ll come home with fish and stories, too!

“This lake will spoil you.” – Rick Clunn, four-time Bassmaster Classic Champion

“It’s the best lake in the country. It’s a 50-50 lake.  You go down one bank and catch 50 largemouths, and then go out little deeper down the same bank and catch 50 smallmouths.” – Michael Ioconelli, Bassmaster Classic Champion & BASS Angler of the Year

“The lake is as good – if not better – than any place I’ve ever fished.  This has got to be one of the best bass lakes in the country.” – Mark Davis, Bassmaster Classic Champion & three time BASS Angler of the Year

“This was our first time here and we all had such a wonderful and relaxing time. The kids enjoyed all their activities, but especially fishing. The adults enjoyed sailing, kayaking, tennis, archery and most of all quiet, alone time to talk without interruption. This is a vacation we will remember for a long time to come.”

“Just a special note of thanks – there was a cancellation for a family fishing trip by other guests. One of the ladies at the Front Desk (older, blonde) came to our door and asked if we wanted to fill the slot since we had not been chosen in the draw. We did, and appreciated the effort.”
